The 1920s was a time of major change for women’s fashion, and this did not exclude shoes.
As hemlines raised, heels became more visible, making the way for more decorative shoe styles.
Popular shoes styles of the time were all about straps since these heels would stay on while dancing. These included Mary Janes with ankle straps, T-straps that feature strips on the ankle and middle of the foot as well as pumps that had no straps. For more casual wear, there were oxfords and saddle heels. Shoes were often paired with stockings as hemlines at the time were raised showing more skin

The 22-year-old entertainer sported heart-print pants styled with a cropped top, a black blazer, and tulle scarf from the Schiaparelli Couture Spring 2015 collection. She completed the ensemble with an eye-catching pair of platform sandals from Brian Atwood’s charity collection created to support the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Miley’s striking sandals are from a collaboration between illustrator Donald Robertson and Brian Atwood to benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. After a member of the shoe designer’s family was diagnosed with the disease, he decided to include these styles in his Spring 2015 collection. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to charity.
